Everyone is trying to get in better shape, and while an electric bike might not seem like it would be very helpful for a new diet and exercise regimen, it can actually be a great way to get started on the road to fitness. Electric bikes force riders to get outside, and since pedaling is required to get the bike going and keep it up to speed, it is much more active than driving a car. An electric bike is a great investment if you are trying to become more active and get in better shape – plus it is great for the environment and for your pocketbook.
By riding electric bikes to work, to school or on errand running trips, riders are getting much more exercise than they would be by driving in their cars every day. Bikes such as the Green Cruiser Electric Bicycles cannot travel extremely long distances, but you can expect to travel approximately 25 to 30 miles on a single charge. Many riders are also able to travel much farther distances with some light pedaling, which helps with increased activity at the same time. Hills are generally a large drain on bicycles like the Pedego Electric Bikes as well, but the rider assisting in pedaling, which will increase travel distance, can augment this.
While you wouldn’t take one of these bikes on a long trip, you can certainly use it for your daily routine, and get a little additional exercise every day as a result. Bikes like the Liberty Electric Bicycles, when used on a regular basis, force riders to get outside and begin enjoying the fresh air again when they might otherwise have stayed indoors or driven a car. And that air will be fresher if everyone uses this kind of bike, because the bicycles and their batteries do not create emissions into the environment. Reduced reliance on gasoline also saves money. It is simply a win-win-win situation.

If you’ve resolved to be more eco-friendly in 2010, a new electric bike could very well be the best way to get started. Electric bikes are much greener than cars, and they can go further and faster than the average bicycle without as much energy expenditure on your part. This is why electric bicycles are ideal for commuting to work or school and getting around town to run errands or meet with friends. Whether you use it to get to work, get to school or just get around, an electric bicycle is the greener way to go.

Products like the Green Cruiser Electric Bicycles, which include numerous models such as the Eclipse and Tornado, have become much more widely accepted especially now that going green is so popular. The Consumer Product Safety Commission has recently classified electric bikes with fully functional pedals as bicycles; as long as their top assisted speeds do not exceed 20 miles per hour and the total propulsive power does not exceed 1-Hp. Electric bicycles like the Green Cruisers are no more expensive than a good bicycle too; in many cases they are actually cheaper. Current online specials have certain models of the Green Cruiser Electric Bike as low as $999, which makes this a very affordable New Year’s Resolution.
The electric bicycle comes in a wide range of sizes and with a large variety of features. They are especially convenient in densely populated cities and on college campuses where space is such an issue. The folding electric bike models present an excellent way to commute with all the advantages of portability coupled with the benefits of electric assistance. These green bikes allow you to get where you need to go in a fast, efficient and eco-friendly manner. Whether you are headed to class, work or the corner store, you can beat the traffic without doing damage to the environment or your pocketbook.
There are many ways you can go green in 2010, but an electric bike is one of the best changes you can make to your everyday life. These bikes are affordable, require no fuel to operate, can go for 30 miles on a single charge, reach 20 miles per hour with minimal effort and are built to last. If you’re going to make one eco-friendly change in your life this year, buying an electric bicycle is the way to go.

An electric bike makes a great holiday gift for someone special in your life, especially if you have a college student on your gift list. Electric bicycles might not be the kind of thing you’d buy for a casual acquaintance; but for a son, daughter, close relative or even a significant other, it is a great way to celebrate the season while going green. Getting around campus or around town is a breeze with popular bicycles such as the Green Cruiser Electric Bikes. Other choices include the Liberty Electric Bikes and Pedego Electric Bicycles.
The Green Cruiser is one of the most popular electric bicycles on the market today, and for good reason. Green Cruiser Electric Bikes are competitively priced, but there is no compromising on quality with these eco-friendly modes of transportation. Only the finest components, including Shimano gearing, are used for all Green Cruiser products. This is what is known as a hybrid bike, which is perfect for both trails and streets, so a college student or commuter can get wherever they need to go without any worry.
If you are looking for a road-ready hybrid bike with a progressive design, Currie Electric Bikes might be the perfect choice for you or one of your loved ones this holiday season. This company also offers folding bicycles and other designs, but it is their hybrid bikes that really steal the show. The quality of their products and the progressiveness of their designs have made Currie Electric Bicycles one of the most talked about brands in the electric bike industry.
Pedego Electric Bicycles are also popular. This company specializes in beach cruisers and folding bikes, which are highly convenient. All of Pedego’s bikes are made of the highest quality materials to ensure solid performance for many years to come. College students in particular enjoy the beach cruiser, which is great for cruising around campus and making short trips around the neighborhood. Folding bikes are particularly convenient for people who work in offices and need to store their bike without taking up space.
These are all fine choices for gift giving, and they would also make a great gift to treat yourself this holiday season.

Have you always loved to ride, but find that as you get older, it is hard on the knees and joints? If so, electric bicycles are the perfect solution. Electric bikes are great because, while you can use the pedals to get great exercise benefits, when you are tired you can switch to the battery-powered motor. No matter what your style, we can help you find the best electric bike for you.
There are a few select electric bicycle companies that make bikes of the highest quality. Pedego electric bikes are top of the line. Pedego electric bicycles come in vintage cruiser styles, as well as tandem (for two riders) and two sizes of the “Umbrella” model, which is a convenient fold up electric bike.

Liberty electric bikes are also top of the line, with a different style aesthetic. While Liberty does offer a couple of models with a classic design that is similar to the Pedego Cruisers, Liberty electric bicycles also come in styles like the 48v, which looks more like a moped. The 48v bike comes in a variety of colors from rose to light blue, and has a front basket. Liberty also offers folding bikes, as well as electric mountain bikes. These mountain bikes are great for adventurers who love to tackle the tough trails, but would like some battery backup in case of fatigue.
Green Cruiser electric bicycles are also a great pick for the riding enthusiast. These models tend to look more like standard bikes, but they are anything but conventional! The batteries are lightweight and are only about seven pounds each, so the bike remains nice and light for riding. In addition, Green Cruiser electric bikes really are “green,” because you can ride an average of about 30 miles on one battery charge. These are truly a commuter’s dream; you can run all of your errands throughout the day, and probably even get to work and back if you live near your place of employment. Using an electric bike opposed to a fuel-operated car is a great choice for the environmentally conscious, because they do not pollute the Earth.

Whether you live in a small village or big city, an electric bicycle can be a great option to get you from point A to point B. With a combination of exercise and comfort, peddle for as long as you like, and then use the electric motor. There are a variety of electric bicycles to chose from, including Pedego, Liberty and Green Cruiser Electric Bikes.
Pedego Electric Bicycles are top of the line. They come in a variety of colors such as black with red, blue, pink and green. You can also get solid colors in orange, dark blue, white and pink. Most Pedego Electric Bicycles have a sleek, retro look, with a double kickstand and comfortable hand brakes. Spoke wheels and a stylized seat complete this high tech bike.

If you are into a more modern, dirt bike look, then Liberty Electric Bikes are perfect for you. Our Liberty model is a mountain bike, so it is ready for tough trails. With the addition of a lightweight battery, the Liberty Mountain Bike will help you tackle harder terrain. Even if you are in great shape, it is nice to know that you can challenge yourself and still have an electric motor for backup if you become tired. Or, if you are just beginning at mountain biking, you can still take the routes that some more experienced friends prefer, without having to worry about keeping up. The Liberty Mountain Bike features adjustable forks and a Shimano six-speed gear for comfort and speed.
Green Cruiser Electric Bicycles look more like a typical bike, but with their powerful battery backup, they are far from that! Some of the colors you can purchase for Green Cruiser Electric Bikes include red, black/silver, forest green and powder blue. Since the battery is placed in a compartment right behind the seat, your back rack is free for whatever you would like to tote, whether that is groceries, school books or anything else you need to transport on your electric bike.
No matter what style electric bike you like best, you can rest assured that there is the perfect electric bicycle out there just for you.

If the price of gas is starting to get you down, maybe you should look into purchasing an electric bike. What’s not to like about electric bikes? You do not have to spend a cent on gasoline, because they are run with electricity. Also, electric bicycles look amazing, coming in a variety of different colors and styles. Do you work only a few miles away from your home? Then it is definitely feasible to even ride your electric bicycle to work, saving yourself money while also saving the environment. Items such as Pedego electric bicycles operate on a lithium ion battery, so it releases no harmful greenhouse gases into the atmosphere at all. Pedego electric bikes are also quick, and their batteries can last from three to five years. It is quick and easy to charge them up, since the battery is basically the same as what would be used to power a small laptop. If you have a long distance to ride, you can even use more than one battery at a time in order to get more distance out of the charge. However, if you ever run out of battery juice with only a short distance to go, remember that you can peddle an electric bike just like a regular one! Not only is this mode of transportation good for the earth, but it is also good for your body.

Another great brand is the Currie electric bicycle. Currie electric bikes look sportier than the classic, retro Pedego styles. However, Currie bikes are really different, in that they offer hybrid and mountain bikes. This can be great for the outdoor sports enthusiast, because you can challenge yourself with difficult trails, but you have battery backup in case the terrain is a little bit harder than anticipated. Starting at an affordable $599, these heavy-duty electric bikes will last for years, and there are even models that can fold up for portability! Just toss one in the back of your car and go.
Whether you’re looking for affordability (try the green cruiser electric bike) or Liberty electric bikes, going electric can benefit everyone.

The electric bicycle has been around since the 1990s when the product was first introduced in China and Japan, and eventually the bike made its way to Europe, before just recently making its way to the United States. Electric bikes offer the benefits of eco friendliness as well as fiscal savings. Electric bike riders can even get some exercise and experience a new peace of mind as they ride to work, to school or around town running errands. And bicycles such as the Green Cruiser and Pedego Electric Bikes are getting people back outdoors again, which has many benefits of its own.
Getting out of the car and into the great outdoors with an electric bicycle offers the advantage of reduced use of gasoline, which can help to ensure that the beauty of nature remains for future generations to enjoy by cutting down on the carbon foot print of each rider. And while many environmentally friendly products cost more money, this one is a huge budget saver. Replacing commutes to work or school with an electric bike and cruising around town on the weekends rather than hopping in the car can put more money back in the budget for more important things. You can get one of the Green Cruiser Electric Bikes, such as the currently discounted powder blue Eclipse bike, for just under $1,000. There are plenty of manual bicycles that cost far more than that.

Spending more time outdoors on a bicycle often means breaking a sweat, and you can still do that on electric bikes if you want to do more of the pedaling. But if you don’t want to show up to an important business meeting dripping with perspiration you can also let the bike do more of the work. Either way, you’ll be getting more exercise than if you had taken the car. Most people are trying to get more exercise these days, and if you have to pedal your way to work or school every day you will automatically be more active. But you will get there much faster and more efficiently than if you were on a manual bicycle. In fact, many of the electric models on the market can go as fast as 20 miles per hour for up to 30 miles on one overnight charge.
Spending more time outdoors on an electric bicycle is beneficial for many reasons, from environment to pocketbook.

As more and more people have concerns about the environment and their pocketbooks, electric bikes have become more and more popular in the United States. With a high quality electric bike that has been left charging over the previous night, you can go 25 to 30 miles without having to use a drop of gas. Electric bicycles also help people get more exercise and enjoy the outdoor sights and sounds, but on those days when you’re feeling lazy you can just let the battery do its thing and go 18 to 20 miles per hour without even pedaling. And these bikes are often available for well under two grand. With so many benefits, it’s actually a bit surprising that more people haven’t jumped on the bandwagon.
In a place like California where beach cruisers are a dime a dozen, bikes like the Pedego Electric Bicycles fit right in. These electric bikes are designed to look and function just like any other cruiser – but with the extended battery life you can go much faster without reaching your destination dripping in sweat. Many college students have embraced this type of electric bicycle to get around campus and the surrounding neighborhoods, for example. There are electric bicycles that are very appropriate for commuting to work or getting around the city to run errands on weekends too.
Electric bikes also fit right in along the streets of densely populated cities like New York, San Francisco and Chicago, where many people already ride bikes and take public transportation out of necessity. With crowded freeways and difficulty parking on the streets, riding an electric bike just makes sense. While it isn’t likely that people all over the country will get rid of their cars and replaces them with an electric bicycle, many people in these cities are already living without cars and would love to have an easier way to get around.
Bikes like the Pedego Electric Bicycles are great for cruising around town or college campuses, but there are also more serious commuter bikes on the electric market. There are hybrids and umbrella bikes. All of these eco-friendly bikes are friendlier on the pocketbook because they do not require gas, they do not emit dangerous fumes, and they don’t need much maintenance. Each electric bike can charge in seven hours, go as far as 30 miles per charge, and reach 20 miles per hour.

Initially when electric bicycles started hitting the marketplace there was resistance from cyclists who felt that the bike was in some way cheapening the sport that they love. Surprisingly, there was even a backlash from some environmentalists who felt that the bike is the perfect eco-friendly mode of transportation and did not need to be tampered with, especially by putting a battery on the bike. In both cases, the above parties can be called purists of their sport or respective cause. With electric bikes being part of the growing revolution of green transportation, the avid cyclist and the environmentalist will see that the electric bike is neither a hindrance to their sport or instrument of environmental degradation but rather an instrument to grow their beloved sport and protect the environment.
Cycling is one of the world’s oldest and most loved sports for professionals, amateurs and everybody in between. Cycling has long been considered a great family outing activity and will for years to come. Avid cyclists love the challenge of pushing themselves to new heights and the feel of accomplishment that comes with reaching new challenges such as climbing the biggest hill in town. There are concerns among the avid cyclists that the amateur cyclist, especially if equipped with an electric bicycle, will clog up the roads and trails and not follow the proper rules of the road. This is a legitimate concern and those considering purchasing an electric bicycle need to be familiar with the rules of the road. The electric bicycle is a new adaptation of the sport, but in essence it still accomplishes many of the same goals that a regular bicycle accomplishes; having families spend time outdoors, exercise, and an alternate mode of transportation. The electric bicycle is not a threat to the standard bicycle because the purists will always keep the cycling tradition alive. The electric bicycle is a great for all cyclists because the more cyclists that there are out there, the larger the cycling community will become and that is great for all cyclists.

The concern among the environmentalists about modifying the bicycle, what is considered by some as the perfect form of travel in terms of no emissions in operation as well as being fairly easy on the environment during production is completely understandable. The main thing that needs to be understood when it comes to electric bikes, is that they are geared for many different types of people including people who are looking for an alternate form of transportation to work instead of driving. Other people that electric bicycles are geared and marketed for are people that have lost some of their mobility and instead of driving around, they would prefer the assistance that is produced with the electric bike as well as college students who cannot afford cars and live a semi-long distance to their campus and want a flexible means of transportation to school besides the bus for example. Electric bicycles are charged in a home and do use energy that comes from the grid but the electric bike is often replacing a vehicle on the road that gets its energy from an oil refinery. In countries such as China, it can already be seen that electric bicycles are replacing motorcycles on a large scale which leads to less pollution entering the air through vehicle emissions. Nothing is perfect, but the electric bicycle is a friend to planet earth and the environmental movement.
The main point being made is that though electric bicycles and standard bicycles have their differences, they have far more in common than a bicycle and an automobile and therefore belong in the same community and ultimately the same trail. From young to old, cycling is here to stay and the electric bicycle opens up this wonderful world of cycling to more people while helping the environment.
